Omg!!! I could not put this book down! It was so riveting and exciting. Secrets and betrayal, by those you least expect, are the basis of this amazing story. I loved it!!
This was a great story. Once I started it , I couldn't put it down. Great suspense! It kept me guessing until the end. I want a Griff of my own!
This series is the best! The characters are well developed and the suspense makes for a fast read. You don't want to put the book down!
Actually a pretty standard romantic suspense but I liked the characters and the fairly involved plot that had me guessing (correctly) about halfway through. I took me a bit of time to like Carmen (was definitely distant, but not a surprise once her history was told). And what a family it is. I also liked the suspense was not nail-biting so as to give me a need to walk it off before I could continue reading. Thank you for that. Overall, as good a read as I had expected.
I really enjoy reading books by this author. This is a mystery thriller. Good character development. The story unfolds with twists and turns. The reader sees the unraveling of a family due to greed and jealousy. A young woman discovers the truth about her own family loss. Good book with thrills and a little romance thrown in
Just as Carmen Jacobs best seller book abut 5 serial killers is about to come out in paperback she receives pictures of women who appear to be dead. Some of them were used in the trial of the killer called the Trucker, but there are 3 that were not. There is also a mysterious note in the envelope with the pictures. The police are convinced it is a publicity stunt to help with sales of her book. Carmen turns to the one man who wants nothing to do with her, Griffin Archer. It seems someone is copying the serial killers in her book.

There are some very twisted characters in this book and they are obsessed with Carmen. The plot is great with suspense that kept me turning the pages. There was also a romance, but it wasn’t the main focus of the story. The author did a good job of keeping you guessing who the bad guy is, there are plenty of suspects. I guessed part of it but still was fooled by the twist. This is the second book of a series but could be read on its own. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
The story itself was good, it moved along well and did not drag as some stories do. I wish Carmen (the female lead) could have been more personable. It took me a long time to even get tepid feelings towards her. She was stubborn and self-righteous and had little apparent concern for how her actions affect anyone else. I found myself thinking Griffin (the male lead) must have someone better out there for him and if he just let her get killed like the psycho apparently wanted to do he would have been better off.
