First of all, how freaking cute is Jupiter with her cheeseburger?!  I had to get to know her. 

Let me tell y’all right now, I am so glad I did.  I want to be friends with Jupiter, with Fisher Amelie, and I just want to crawl into the fantasy-land of pretty book covers.  Jupiter grew up with unconventional parents, as you can tell by her name.  She lived in a UFO for Pete’s Sake, with a sister named Mercury.  Jupiter finds herself accepted to college in faraway Seattle, Washington, with parents who refuse to take her to college.  When she accidentally bumps into her crush (literally) and ends up with his acceptance letter to the same college she is going to, her bestie Frankie forces her to bum a ride to Washington in his super rad ’65 GTO.  The book takes us along for the ride with Jupiter, Ezra, and Ezra’s cousin Kai-who just so happens to be hilarious.  Someone is Catfished, there is a fire, theft, and a whole lot of fun and snacks.

“…I was forced to follow them like a Justin Bieber Insta account, with shame and humiliation.”

I mean, this book has the perfect amount of weird, funny, a reference to “Are You Being Served?”, and a roadtrip in a muscle car.  I think this novel is my spirit-animal, not that that reference makes sense what-so-ever.

“My family was weird, I was weird, everything about me was weird, and I was constantly called out on it.”

I am so ecstatic to read more from Fisher Amelie!  I will be starting Penny from London ASAP, and hopefully her Seven Deadly Sins series soon.  Check out her work, and pick up your copy of Jupiter.  It is a perfect feel-good, fun and clean love story.

Now I’m going to watch “Are You Being Served?”!!!

This is my first book by Fisher and she killed it!

Oh my Gato! I annihilated this book, I couldn't get enough and I still want more. This novel was fresh fun, swoony, so stinking hilarious. I had a smirk on my face while reading and couldn't get it off. I teared up a few times, not because it was sad, just had some heart felt moments.

I don't typically read YA books, but this cover and blurb sucked me in. It was so nice not read a book where the hero and heroine were constantly 'doing it'. Your teenage daughter could read this and you wouldn't even have to worry about the content.

Jupiter is quirky, quick witted and brilliant. Ezra is dark and broody, and sweet and shy at times. Add in Ezra's cousin Kai in the car with these two and you are for a fun cross country adventure!
I have a confession. When Fisher Amelie releases a book, I buy it right away, but i don't read it. No. I hoard it, until the time i need it most. Because this author can bring me out of a funk like no other. The dialogue is so clever, and full of pop-culture/movie references that when i "get" them, i feel like I'm Winning. And the banter! Oh the banter is just the thing to bring a smile to my heart. I can count on quirky, fabulous characters that I totally fall for. Song references that i must stop and look up on You Tube immediately. And mentions of fashion designers that i Google until i find a pic of the outfit that the author desribed in the story. Those fantastic outfits actuality exist, and bring the character even more to life for me. This book was no exception, and was sheer perfection of the bring-me-joy variety. Not to say the author doesn't bring all the feels into the story, but at the end I'm left so very happy. Perfect!
Crazy fun book. It takes a talented author to write something so weird yet awesome!!! I'm pretty sure Ezra wanted Jupiter to get in the car lol. The blurb made absolutely no sense, which made me all the more intrigued.
And Jupiter? Really quirky, pretty brave, full of life, and romantic chickenshit. Did I mention she has a sister named Mercury and her family lives in a UFO?? Yup!
Then there is Ezra. Super popular, had a loving girlfriend, in sports, and a regular high school stereotype. Then there was an incident. Ezra becomes broken, moody, quiet, and hermit. He's prideful, stubborn, confused, and afraid of girls.
Thanks to happenstance, these two are tossed together with Ezra's meddling cousin across the country on a road trip. Did I mention road trips rock? Yup!
I definitely don't want to give anything imperative away, so bottom line read this damn book. You won't be sorry and will be saying 'get in the car Jupiter' for a long time to come because, yeah it's so strange, it's memorable. Ten glittery stars, but I'm only allowed to give it a realistic five glittery stars. Kudos to Amelie and a new author for me to indulge in.
First off, I love this cover so much. It was one of the things that drew me to the book, that and I have previously enjoyed Fisher Amelie's books. Where to start with this book, it was awesome. It had all my favorite things from unrequited love that turns into actual love, road trips and fun along the way. We first met Jupiter - yes that's her real name, and her sister is called Mercury and get this - they live in a UFO house on a lake. Jupiter is about to graduate from college and has never kissed a guy but has always had her sights set on Ezra. Years ago, Ezra was the type of guy who was the life of the party but then tragedy happened, and his whole personality took a 360. Now with only weeks left, Jupiter gets up the courage to talk to Ezra, and one thing leads to another, and they discover that they are both A) enrolled in the same course in college and even better B) heading to the same college. Roadtrip time - Ezra, Jupiter, and his cousin Kai are on their way to Kai's house for some fun times before College, but to get there they will have a heck of a ride. From a Hitchhiker who likes to get naked, setting a bush on fire and ending up on the news to fancy dress parties. Everything about this book was awesome, and after reading it, I wanted to be Jupiter. I adored her character so much. I even enjoyed the side characters and want a book about Milo now which is Kai's brother, also after reading this I have to admit I wanted a yummy cheeseburger. If you are wanting an awesome New Adult Romance to conclude your 2016 reading list with then what are you waiting for - hurry up and check out Get in the Car, Jupiter as you will not be disappointed.
